Back on plan – 10 weeks until show

My last NPC show was early November and I must say I have been pretty lazy through December.  No, I didn’t pig out and sit on my sofa for two months.  I did actually try to keep my weight between 5 to 10 pounds over my show weight, but I certainly didn’t bust my butt doing tons of cardio.

I also tried to stay mainly on plan — with the exception of drinking wine and enjoying more bread and desserts than I did while training.  A girl has to live a little! However, I didn’t go completely overboard though as I wanted my body to stay mostly “clean” during the so-called off season. And I’m so glad I did.

It’s 10 weeks from the Governor’s Cup in Sacramento and it’s time to say good-bye to cream cheese and bagels, hot chocolate and alcohol. My fellow competitors are also gearing up and we’re already emailing each other to see who’s going to be there on March 24 and who’s not.

Believe me, nothing is more motivating than knowing your girlfriends are already hitting the gym and getting shape. We all want to make top 5 again next year and be up on stage holding hands at the end. 

And you know what? I’m actually looking forward to eating clean and training again. I kind of miss being in the game.
